01 — GRIP

Sticky dry, stickier wet. The mat that likes a hot room.

How it works

Polyurethane absorbs sweat rather than letting it bead, so traction rises as the practice heats up. There is no break-in; grip is there from the first class. Testers noted it "may lose grip with use" over years, and that the smooth side marks and stains more easily than rubber.

02 — CUSHION

Five millimetres of natural rubber with real spring in it.

How it works

Natural rubber compresses and rebounds, so kneeling and low lunges feel padded rather than planted. It is a softer landing than the dense PVC of the PRO: kinder to knees and wrists, slightly less floor-like under a balance.

03 — CARE

Open-cell on top: wipe it, air it, keep it out of the sun.

How it works

Because the top layer absorbs, it also stains and shows scratches, and lululemon warns the colour may change over time. The antimicrobial additive keeps mould and mildew down, but the mat wants a wipe after every class and a full air-dry before rolling.
