Run a Studio? List It Free

How yoga studios get listed in the MyLAyoga directory at no cost — what a listing includes, how to add or claim yours, and why neighborhood-first beats paid placement.

  • directory
  • studios
  • for owners

If you run a yoga studio in Los Angeles, here’s the short version: getting listed on MyLAyoga is free. Always has been, always will be. No featured-placement fee, no pay-to-rank tiers, no monthly bill for the privilege of being found. This is a directory built to help people find a good practice near them — and that only works if the listings reflect the real city, not just the studios with a marketing budget.

This post explains how it works, what a listing gets you, and how to add or claim yours.

What a free listing includes

Every studio in the directory gets the same treatment. There’s no premium tier that buys you better visibility, because we don’t sort by who paid. A listing carries your name, neighborhood, the styles you teach, and a link out to your own site so people can book directly with you — not through us.

Just as important is where you show up. The directory is organized two ways people actually search: by neighborhood, because in LA “yoga near me” really means “yoga in my part of town,” and by style, for the folks who already know they want yin, sound bath, prenatal, or hot. When your listing names the styles you teach and the area you’re in, you land in front of people who are looking for exactly that — a much warmer lead than a stranger scrolling a giant unsorted list.

Adding a studio

If your studio isn’t in the directory yet, you can add it. Head to the submit page and send the basics: studio name, neighborhood, the styles on your schedule, and a link to your website. Keep it plain and accurate — that’s all it takes. We’re a curated directory, not a free-for-all, so listings are reviewed for fit, but the bar is simply “is this a real LA yoga studio people would want to find.” Most are.

You don’t need a polished pitch or special access. A short, honest description of what you offer does more for the right student than any amount of hype.

Claiming a studio that’s already listed

Sometimes a studio is already in the directory before its owner ever reaches out — we build neighborhood by neighborhood, and a studio may get added as a page comes online. If that’s yours, you can claim it. Use the same submit page, mention that the listing already exists, and tell us what needs updating: a style that’s new to your schedule, a corrected neighborhood, a fresh website link, a name that’s changed. Claiming puts the details in your hands so the listing stays true to what students will actually find when they walk in.

Why free, and why neighborhood-first

A directory that ranks by ad spend stops being useful the moment you can’t trust the order. We’d rather be the calm, honest map of LA yoga — every studio findable, sorted by where it is and what it teaches, never by who paid the most this month. Free listings keep the map complete. A complete map is the whole point.

If you teach yoga teachers as well as students, there’s a place for that too: our teacher training section helps people find programs across the city, and your studio’s trainings can live alongside your class listing.

So if you run a studio, add it or claim it. It costs nothing, it points students straight to your door, and it makes the directory a little more like the real Los Angeles — block by block, style by style, welcoming by default.
