Free Meditation and Bhakti Yoga with Kirtan in Palisades Park
A free weekly Saturday afternoon of kirtan, a short meditation class and Q&A on the grass in Palisades Park, Santa Monica, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., run by the US School of Meditation & Yoga.
Every Saturday afternoon the US School of Meditation & Yoga gathers on the grass in Palisades Park, opposite the corner of Ocean and Alta Avenues, for free meditation and bhakti yoga with kirtan, the call-and-response chanting at the heart of bhakti practice.
The program runs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.: kirtan first, then a short meditation class with breathing and japa (mantra) meditation, Q&A, a second round of kirtan, a talk on what meditation is, and refreshments to close. When nobody new comes, the group skips the introduction and goes straight to kirtan and Q&A.
The organizer lists Saturdays through January 9; this listing shows the next one. Bring a mat or blanket, a jacket and some water. Street parking nearby is free or metered.
MyLAyoga does not run this event and takes no booking. The link goes straight to the organizer.
