7 yoga studios in Long Beach
Ashtanga Ashtanga Yoga Long Beach
A traditional Mysore-style programme in the Krishnamacharya lineage, taught by Aimee Echo. You arrive any time in the morning window and work your own practice with the teacher moving between students. Guided Active Series runs Monday and Wednesday, guided Primary on Sundays with a Yoga Study session after it, and the shala rests on the new and full moons. Its website now carries the name Community Yoga Club, which it calls the home of Ashtanga Yoga Long Beach.
Sculpt CorePower Yoga The Circle Long Beach
By the Traffic Circle on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach. By some distance the furthest south of the chain's LA-area rooms. Heated power classes and weighted sculpt on the usual daily schedule.
Ra Yoga Long Beach
The only Los Angeles County room of a mostly Orange County chain, in the Long Beach Exchange (LBX) centre by the airport rather than near the water. Heated and unheated classes across a full daily schedule, with teacher training, workshops and retreats run under the studio's own Ra University banner.
Hot yoga West Coast Sweat Long Beach
The original West Coast Sweat room, open since 2002 and out on Pacific Coast Highway near the Seal Beach line; Hermosa is the newer studio. The classic Bikram sequence is at the centre, with Inferno hot Pilates, which fills about half the schedule, and stretch and restore classes around it. Memberships cover both rooms.
Vinyasa flow Yoga108
A downtown Long Beach studio built around Bhakti principles, with a free kirtan on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Infrared heat, vinyasa and fitness classes fill the timetable, with workshops, trainings and retreats on top.
Yogalution Movement and Wellness
Now membership-supported, with monthly and annual memberships and single drop-ins, and still explicit about access: the studio calls itself Long Beach's most accessible. Classes on Redondo Avenue are joined by Yoga on the Bluff, a long-running donation-based outdoor class above the shoreline every day at 11am, plus a wellness centre, teacher training and online programmes.
Power YogaSix Long Beach
On Pacific Coast Highway about a quarter mile from West Coast Sweat, which makes this corner of Long Beach an easy place to try two very different rooms in a week. The YogaSix menu is the chain's usual six, graded by intensity and labelled plainly, which is the appeal if you are new enough that a studio's private vocabulary is a barrier.
