Venice Yoga Festival & Block Party
A free, family-friendly day of yoga, live music and kirtan, art, dance and a community bazaar at Muscle Beach, Venice. Saturday 24 October, noon to sunset.
The Venice Yoga Festival & Block Party is a free, family-friendly day at Muscle Beach in Venice on Saturday 24 October, from noon. It is presented by the World Yoga Federation and Yoga Nest Venice, and the organizers say its aim is to bring families, artists and musicians back to the Venice Recreation Center and boardwalk. Entry is free, and they have a free-ticket page on Luma.
What is on
The organizers list yoga and wellness sessions, sound baths and workshops for all levels, live kirtan, world music and cultural performances, talks, dance, art and live painting, kids activities, and a community bazaar of local makers and artisans that includes an Indian bazaar of crafts. Leashed dogs are welcome on the sand, it runs rain or shine, and Yoga Nest Venice’s note says to bring a mat.
Where and when
Yoga Nest Venice’s listing gives the venue as the Venice Beach Recreation Center at 1800 Ocean Front Walk, and the festival’s own site and poster say Muscle Beach. Both are the same address. The poster adds “main basketball court”.
On timing, the festival’s own site says noon to sunset, while Yoga Nest Venice’s listing says 12 to 7 p.m. The calendar entry uses the later 7 p.m. end, so plan for noon into the early evening. Neither page names the teachers or posts a schedule yet, so check the festival’s site, veniceyogafestival.com, before you go.
Local brands and community groups can apply to run a stall or sponsor the day through that same site. For somewhere to practice the rest of the week, see our Venice studios.
MyLAyoga does not run this event and takes no booking. The link goes straight to the organizer.
