Yogananda Fest: Grand Opening of Ananda Los Angeles
A free, all-day festival of yoga, meditation classes, talks, kirtan and vegetarian food celebrating the opening of Ananda's new Los Angeles center in Jefferson Park.
Ananda Los Angeles marks the grand opening of its new center with Yogananda Fest, a free day-long festival built around the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. Entry is free; Ananda asks guests to register through Eventbrite.
Yoga and meditation, drop in any time. Three long practice blocks run through the day: Yoga & Meditation to Awaken Your Higher Self (10 a.m.), to Awaken the Chakras (noon) and to Awaken Joy (2 p.m.). Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
Shorter classes and talks. An intro to Energization (10 a.m.), an intro to meditation (11:10 a.m.), healing prayers (12:15 p.m.), affirmations for health and healing (1 p.m.), an intro to the Hong-Sau concentration technique (2 p.m.) and a chakra sound-healing session (3 p.m.).
Evening. A keynote talk with choir, “Awaken to Superconsciousness,” runs 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by kirtan and global healing prayers until 7 p.m.
Indoor and outdoor vendors sell spiritual attire, meditation props, jewelry and art, with vegetarian food on site. The program above is Ananda’s published schedule; check the Eventbrite listing for any changes before you go.
