Traditional Body and Brain Burbank
Part of the Korean Body and Brain chain, which is not yoga in the vinyasa sense: the classes braid together gentle stretching, tai chi and qigong, breathing exercises and meditation, with the nervous system rather than the shape as the point. Good for anyone who wants to move slowly and be talked through it. Trial classes are the usual way in.
Community The Circle Burbank
Not a public studio: a private women's membership community on Burbank Boulevard whose own site says it is open to members only. The programming is circles, sound baths, movement and workshops rather than a class timetable, and the room is built for sitting together. Worth knowing before you turn up: you join first, then attend.
