Flow studios in Mid-City
Flow Child's Pose Studio
A neighborhood studio on La Cienega that set out to strip the cost and intimidation out of yoga: the site says you need no special mat, no new outfit and no Sanskrit. Flow, yin-yang, sculpt, restore, prenatal and mat Pilates classes run every day of the week, though Friday has a single midday class, and props are free. There is no parking lot, only street parking, and the kids classes the studio was founded on are currently paused.
Flow Lotus Wellness and Yoga
A Black-owned studio on South La Brea that puts access first: classes are offered by donation alongside memberships and class packs, and new students can start with an intro month of unlimited classes. The stated mission is a room where yoga is for every body, and the space is set up for it, cushions in a circle as often as mats in rows. Studio rental is available.
Flow Veda Yoga La Cienega
The second room of Veda Yoga Center, the non-profit that has run on Venice Boulevard in Culver City since 2014, this one upstairs on South La Cienega. Same footing: classes from beginner to advanced taught in the Vedic tradition the name comes from, and complimentary lifetime memberships for veterans, military, firefighters and law enforcement.
