CorePower Yoga Plans More Than 20 New Studios a Year, and Has Opened in Long Beach
The 220-plus-studio chain says it will open more than 20 studios a year from now on. In LA County, the new one to know about is in Long Beach.
CorePower Yoga expects to open more than 20 new studios in 2026, and says it anticipates opening more than 20 a year from now on, according to a report in the trade publication Athletech News on 29 September 2026. Southern California is one of the markets it is growing in, alongside New York, Miami and Nashville.
What the chain announced
- 20 leases signed for 2026. Eighteen of them are for newly built locations in residential or mixed-use developments, rather than existing retail space.
- New markets. CorePower is entering Long Island, New Jersey (a Hoboken studio is planned) and Long Beach, California for the first time, and opening flagship studios in Downtown Brooklyn, Coral Gables and Nashville’s Gulch.
- New leadership. Dan Lynn, formerly of Inspire Brands, took over as CEO in July and said at the time that he planned to “accelerate” studio growth.
- Scale. Founded in 2002, CorePower runs more than 220 studios across 23 states and Washington, D.C. Its classes now also cover strength training, cardio, mobility and recovery.
Chief growth officer Abby Gilbertson framed it as measured expansion: “We’re not chasing growth for its own sake,” she told Athletech News, describing the new locations as communities where students had already shown demand.
The LA part: Long Beach
The Long Beach opening has already happened. CorePower Yoga The Circle Long Beach is at 4640 Pacific Coast Hwy, in the Sprouts Plaza of the Circle Marina Center off the Long Beach Traffic Circle. Its studio page lists a class schedule and a free first week for new students.
The report names no new studio inside the City of Los Angeles, so for most of LA the change is the policy rather than a new address nearby. Our directory lists 19 CorePower studios across LA County, from Pasadena to Torrance. They are all in our studio directory, and the Long Beach page shows what else is near The Circle.
Why it matters
This comes two weeks after we reported that Y7 had closed all of its studios, including its Silver Lake room. Studio chains are moving in opposite directions, and CorePower is putting most of its new rooms into newly built apartment and mixed-use buildings. A chain’s plan is still only a plan, though: which LA neighborhoods get one of the next rounds of openings is the part worth watching, and the report does not say.
