Free Outdoor Yoga Continues in Downtown LA This Fall
Grand Park's Wellness Break runs free all-levels yoga every Wednesday and Friday at noon, and ActiveSGV hosts a free beginner-friendly class at LA State Historic Park on the first and third Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
Grand Park: Wellness Break, twice a week
Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Wellness Break is back for 2026 with free outdoor yoga every Wednesday and Friday from 12 to 12:45 p.m. on the performance lawn between Grand Ave and Hill St. Classes are all-levels and open to all ages, and the park provides mats and shade, so you can come straight from work. Leashed pets are welcome. The park also runs a “Wild Card” series of occasional special sessions, such as sound healing and movement workshops. Details are on our listing.
LA State Historic Park: evening class, twice a month
ActiveSGV hosts a free, beginner-friendly community yoga class at 5 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays, a series that began August 5, 2026. The next session is Wednesday, September 16, from 5 to 6 p.m. The group meets on the small lawn north of the Welcome Pavilion, 1315 N Spring St. Bring your own mat, or reserve one ahead through the listing, plus water and clothes you can move in. Registration is free on Eventbrite.
Why it matters
Both programs cost nothing, need no membership, and sit about a mile apart on the north side of downtown. Between them there are free classes every Wednesday and Friday at midday, plus two evening sessions a month, which makes them an easy way in for anyone new to yoga. For studio classes nearby, see our Downtown LA studios.
