Healing the Heart: A Silent Yoga and Zen Retreat in Colorado
Yin and vinyasa yoga, Zen meditation and Noble Silence at Drala Mountain Center, February 5 to 7, 2027.
About the retreat
Healing the Heart is a weekend immersion at Drala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, in the Colorado Rockies, from February 5 to 7, 2027. It weaves Zen meditation with yin and vinyasa yoga and inquiry informed by Internal Family Systems, and most of it is held in Noble Silence, from Friday evening to the end of Sunday's morning session.
The weekend is built around the Brahma Viharas, loving-kindness, compassion and empathetic joy, taken as practices rather than ideas, with forgiveness as the route to equanimity. All levels are welcome, and no experience of yoga or meditation is needed.
MyLAyoga does not run this retreat. Enquiries come to us first: tell us which kind of room you want and we confirm availability, the current price and how to book with Drala Mountain Center, then follow up with you ourselves.
Retreat highlights
Rhythmic vinyasa sequences and long-held yin postures, with a gentle class on the first evening and a vin-yin session on Sunday morning.
Silent sits and dharma reflections, opening with a talk on the awakened heart on Friday evening.
Silence begins after Friday's evening session and ends after Sunday's morning session, so Saturday is a whole day without conversation.
Each session pairs yoga with one of the heart practices: metta (loving-kindness), karuna (compassion), mudita (empathetic joy) and kshama (forgiveness).
Heart-opening breathwork and inquiry drawn from Internal Family Systems, the therapy model Kali Basman is a certified coach in.
Every lodging option includes Drala's meals and drinks, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.
